Get a device which is either programmable or has the required features for controlling electronic appliances.
Get the hourly price list for electricity.
Guide various electric appliances so that when the hourly price of electricity goes above, say 8 s/kWh dim or turn off lamps etc. Also alert the homeowner and ask if it's ok to turn off or limit the usage of certain power consumers, like "Is OK to turn off the Sauna? It's already been on for 4 consecutive hours." Also allow the scheduling of turning on certain devices when the price level drops to specified level. Like it's ok to run the dishwasher when electric price drops below 6 but make sure the dishes are clean before 16:00 ( it takes anything from 45 minutes to 2 hours and 45 minutes for the dishwasher to run it's cycle).
When electricity price drops below 2 s/kWh increase electric heating to allow warmth to accumulate. Load any electronic storage devices, like Tesla PowerWall with electric energy to be redistributed later when electricity price level rises again in 8 hours.
For this to work some devices and software is needed. We'll return on those in part two.
